Sayan Biswas - Climate Technology Entrepreneur

Sayan Biswas is an entrepreneur and engineer working at the intersection of sustainable energy innovation and technology policy. With a foundation in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Connecticut and Purdue University, Sayan Biswas has built a career translating deep technological expertise into scalable, climate-focused ventures. As the founder of EquiPolicy and TerraCare Energy, his work involves connecting innovators with policymakers to ensure the enactment of supportive policies that accelerate the deployment of commercially viable green engineering solutions.

Before becoming a founder, Sayan Biswas was a science and technology fellow at the US Department of Energy in Washington DC. He supported the transition of federally funded energy innovations from lab to market by evaluating barriers to commercialization and developing appropriate policy and program improvements. He managed the DOE’s Deep Tech-to-Market strategy, driving commercialization initiatives in AI, quantum computing, and critical materials.

Before that, Sayan Biswas was a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia National Laboratories and, before that, a research and development specialist at Praxair Inc. He collaborated with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to translate R&D findings on combustion systems into practical solutions, even developing cutting-edge combustion technologies that demonstrated significant fuel efficiency. Sayan Biswas further supported intellectual property development and contributed to peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Sayan Biswas has also worked as a sustainability consulting accelerator with OnePointFive and a climate fellow at Tera.do. During his doctoral research at Purdue University, he advanced high-efficiency, low-emission propulsion systems, publishing extensively and earning several recognitions, including the Springer Thesis Award.
